Journal club Astro-particules
Prochaine séance : vendredi 26/4/2013 - 11h - N.B.: Salle de cours à côté de la salle 9 !
- http://arxiv.org/abs/1304.4279 | Dark Matter Search Results Using the Silicon Detectors of CDMS II | Jabob Lamblin
- http://arxiv.org/abs/1303.5062 | Planck 2013 results. I. Overview of products and scientific results + comments on Fig.A.4(b), Fig.2 and Fig.21 of the Cosmological parameters paper | Laurence & Celine
FAQ (about the Journal-Club)
- its goal is to allow us to discuss recent papers, taking advantage of the many topics and expertises developed in the lab.
- it's an opportunity for students to 'give' talks and ask questions.
- feel free to attend and contribute in English (but be aware that French is the default language)
- it is open to everybody and any subject, though the focus is on astroparticle physics
A quoi ça sert ?
Venez nombreux !

Drift streamlines for positively charged cosmic rays. The directions correspond to the 1975 sunspot minimum (when the polar solar magnetic field was directed outward from the Sun) and would be reversed in alternate minima. The heavy wavy line is the interplanetary current sheet, along which particles drift extremely rapidly. Similarly, the arrows would be reversed for negatively charged particles.
