MUSE Experiments at MASURCA
Since 1997 the hybrid reactor group from Grenoble is involved in an experimental program called
MUSE (MUltiplication of
an External Source) in collaboration with CEA (french atomic energy agency),
EDF (Electricité de France) and FRAMATOME in
the frame of GEDEON, and opened more recently to other
European institutes.
This experimental program takes place at the research reactor MASURCA
(MAquette de SURgénérateur à CAdarache) of the CEA Nuclear Center of Cadarache.
It is
devoted to the study of neutronics in a fast sub-critical core
associated to an external neutron source, and also to the
validation of correlated calculation codes.
